Call it nesting, call it homeschooling mom, whatever has gotten into me the last few weeks has my house more foundationally organized than it’s ever been.
I went on Pinterest to attempt inspiration and all I found were rooms dedicated to crafting and little ikea style baskets or trays close to the floor. I’m sorry but my children do. not. care. about the work I put into organizing, so our system must be able to be locked up or out of reach.
Kids clothes:
Sorted by size in big storage containers like this: https://amzn.to/39ul9vG
We are getting rid of dressers because #why and trading them for JONAXEL from Ikea: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/jonaxel-frame-wire-baskets-top-shelf-s79305098/ – I made little tags for each of their clothes for easy finding.
Here are some of my new finds:
- New Laundry Baskets: https://amzn.to/2BEJliw
- New organizational system for all things craft: https://amzn.to/3g3lLeg
(Junk drawer, you’re going down) - My favorite Label maker: https://amzn.to/2X24t9H
Drawers were labeled the following:
- Glue
- Tape
- Markers
- Scissors
- Pencils
- Crayons
- Notecards
- Misc Craft (popsicle sticks, pipecleaners, etc)
I recycled old pasta sauce jars (until I get to Ikea for some cute ones) for the following:
- Tacks
- Rubber Bands
- Paper Clips
- Dice
- Makedo toys (Highly recc. if you have a little architect): https://amzn.to/3hDJqSO
I used little bins with lids like this https://amzn.to/2P0TQQ5 to organize the rest of the chaos that once stuffed into our “junk drawer”:
- Batteries
- Audio (headphones)
- Cords
- Extra Chargers
I created a basket (easy to grab) for each of the following:
- Scrap + Craft Paper
- Teachers manuals
- Flashcards
Anyway, if you get an ant in your panties and want to get organized, I hope this gives you some inspiration!
PS. Check out this cute “Chore Chart” I made for the kids. Eeek. I love this stuff.
